Total Miles: 180
Sara made an amazing breakfast of waffles and fresh raspberries. I huge thank you to both Sara and Chad for your wonderful hospitality. I even had a chance to do a load of laundry. Later that morning we met Chad at Adventure Designs so that he could load up his bike. He had forgot one thing back home so we followed him and had a chance to say one last good bye to Sara.
We had a late start but finally headed North up the 101.
Lots of rain in the forecast for the rest of the day and evening. We stopped in Healdsburg so Chad could fill up with fuel. Since we didn’t have lunch we decided to stop at Bear Republic Brewing Company to have an early dinner. By the time we left it was getting dark and pouring rain. When we arrived in Willits Chad could hardly see anything out of his tinted visor. We decided to get a room for the night. Galen negotiated a great rate for two rooms at the Old West Inn. Galen and I had some beers left in our panniers so we got some ice and spun them in the sink. We enjoyed a beer and watched the end of game 4 of the World Series. We met a gal on a 1200GS who was coming back from Mexico. She was also trying to get out of the weather and stayed at the Old West Inn. The rooms were nothing fancy but they were clean and dry.
