Overview:

Galen and I bought this little gem in September 2014.  We have the grey/green version of this lantern.  The built in loop with magnetic closure was perfect to hang the lantern from the middle of our tent.  It filled the whole tent with light.  We attached it to a tree branch when we needed to set up camp after dark.  Also worked great to give us more light when making and cleaning up dinner. I love that it gives out a clean, warm, white light which is easy on the eyes. We both have headlamps but enjoyed the addition of this area lantern.
Couple of things to keep in mind:

• The silicone rubber shade does come off very easily so just be aware of that when you are packing it in your panniers.
• We pack it last in the corner of the top case with the shade facing up so that it won’t turn on accidentally when in transit.
• It does take a few minutes to figure out how to turn it on and dim the light.  Be patient and I promise it will get better.

In general this isn’t a need, but is a nice addition to your camping gear.
