Overview:

Galen and I currently own 15 Degree Mummy Sleeping Bags from Mountain Hardware.  We are looking at selling those on Craigslist and buying the Nemo Spoon Shaped sleeping bags.

What I don’t like about Mummy Bags

• Limited space makes sleeping on your side a struggle
• Arms fall asleep when I sleep on my back all night
• When camping in the low 20’s my feet got cold

The new NEMO Spoon Shape is wide in the shoulders, tapers to hips and then gently flares back out to allow room for the natural bend and shift of knees.  The vertical baffle construction curves to the shape of your body; construction keeps down from shifting around, preventing cold spots.  I love that this spoon shaped bag has water repellent material which protects the sleeping bag from tent wall condensation.  At the neck, an extra flap of insulation called the “blanket fold” acts like a mini down comforter: Unfold it outside of the bag for more neck venting, or pull it inside for a cozy seal. A pillow pocket inside the base of the hood is perfectly positioned to stuff your pillow or fleece pullover.  This bag also has a zipped watch pocket so you’ll hear your alarm go off in the morning or store a few Kleenexes.  Galen and I are both looking forward to adding these bags to our camping excursions.
