Galen and I were over joyed to get a call from Gary at the BMW Performance Center located in South Carolina. He extended an invitation to both of us to come down and go through both their On-Road Riding School and their Off-Road Riding School. We jumped at the opportunity and made it happen. Galen was beyond excited since he had never had any professional training and was looking forward to learning some new tips and techniques. I was scared out of my mind. I had earned my motorcycle license when I was 18 but had done very little riding since going through the basic rider training class offered by our local ABATE organization. Just getting back on the bike was going to be a big step for me.

As we pulled into the BMW Performance Center, in Greer, SC, I was shocked with how large the BMW facility was. BMW has over 1200 acres which includes a massive manufacturing plant, an energy center, the Performance Center, on site health center as well as their own police and fire departments. They employ over 8,000 people and have been in this location for over 20 years.
The Performance Center not only houses the driving and riding schools it is also their delivery center. People who have ordered their BMW can take delivery on their vehicle here and receive a hot lap on their road course and a tour of the factory. Everything at the Performance Center is top notch from their coffee to their gourmet lunches.
