12 Goals For 2015

I will be honest with you, I am not a big fan of New Year’s Resolutions.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the whole concept of a fresh new year, and a new beginning, but I think New Year’s Resolutions just set me up for failure.  It is crazy but only 8% of people who make New Year’s Resolutions actually achieve them.

I am a big fan of goal setting.  Goal setting is much different than New Year’s resolutions.  It breaks down big dreams into bite sized tasks.  I have found goals work best for me when they are specific, measurable, and have a deadline.

BMW Performance Center Rider Training

BMW RIDER ACADEMY BUY GET ONE HALF OFF

Galen and I were over joyed to get a call from Gary at the BMW Performance Center located in South Carolina.  He extended an invitation to both of us to come down and go through both their On-Road Riding School and their Off-Road Riding School.  We jumped at the opportunity and made it happen.  Galen was beyond excited since he had never had any professional training and was looking forward to learning some new tips and techniques.  I was scared out of my mind.  I had earned my motorcycle license when I was 18 but had done very little riding since going through the basic rider training class offered by our local ABATE organization.  Just getting back on the bike was going to be a big step for me.

What would our life look like if we didn’t take steps to overcome our fears?”

As we pulled into the BMW Performance Center, in Greer, SC, I was shocked with how large the BMW facility was.  BMW has over 1200 acres which includes a massive manufacturing plant, an energy center, the Performance Center, on site health center as well as their own police and fire departments.  They employ over 8,000 people and have been in this location for over 20 years.

Brian has been riding for 13 years.  Tricia has been riding for 2 years.  While attending  the 2012 BMW National Rally 2up, Tricia decided she would ride her own bike to the 2013 National Rally.  That is exactly what she did, in one year she learned to ride, earned her license and rode all the way to the BMW Rally in Salem, Oregon.  I love that story.  Brain rides a 2011 BMW R1200GSA and a 2013 F800GS.  Tricia rides a 2013 F700GS that she ordered lowered from the factory.
When asked to share advice to inspire others Brian says,

Don’t put your plans off, follow your dreams and turn them into memories.”

Welcome To Our Journey

Hi, I am CranberryCarrie.  I grew up in Warrens, Wisconsin on my family’s cranberry marsh.  In 2003 my life was forever changed when I met Galen, the love of my life.  Back in 2004 my Aunt Becky let Galen borrow her BMW 650 motorcycle for the afternoon and that is all it took to get him hooked on adventure riding. For over 10 years we have enjoyed riding 2up first on our BMW1150GS and now on our 1200GSA.  The adventures we have taken have not only made our relationship stronger but have allowed us to meet some pretty amazing people along the way.  Life has a way of getting busy and complicated.  I hope to inspire you to enrich your relationship through adventure travel and save money through intentional living.  Thanks for joining me on this journey.
